The Yin-Yang
Frame Size:  10inch x 10inch

The Yin and Yang symbol is recognised worldwide, the Yin and Yang is a concept used within Taoism; a Chinese philosophy and religion, and has developed over thousands of years.

Briefly put, the meaning of yin and yang is that the universe is driven by a cosmic duality, sets of two opposing and complementing principles or cosmic energies that can be observed in natural world.

Generally, Yin is described as an inward energy that is feminine, still, dark, and negative.

On the other hand, Yang is described as an outward energy, masculine, hot, bright, and positive.

The principle of Yin and Yang is that all things exist as inseparable and contradictory opposites, for example, female-male, dark-light, Moon-Sun, cold-hot, old-young and so forth.

The pairs of equal opposites attract and complement each other.

They are universal energies that attract and create movement, and a balance of both keeps energy moving fluidly.

In Feng Shui, the goal is to enhance and shift the flow of qi, or life force energy in your home or sacred space to make it as supportive and nourishing as possible; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Balancing Yin and Yang around your home depends on how each room serves it's purpose; example

- Your bedroom should have more Yin energies than Yang. That’s because the main purpose of the bedroom is for rest. It will favor stillness, darkness, and cool temperatures that all help induces sleep.

- The living room & dining area should have more Yang energy As it's where family and friends get together and socialise, favouring loud noises, brightness & warmer energies.
